December 2011 (v. 2.0): NicaBell's Shoes Haul

Holler!!!!

I bought 2 shoes and 2 slippers.

Yes I was a crazy shopper this December. But hey! I got a good bargain! So let get started^^

I bought the slippers because I think that they were cute. Especially when the color were different from the other one.

This shoe is so cute isn't it? The cutting is very small and I over heard from the girls who work on the shop saying that their stock comes from Thailand. It got me thinking, "What? Is she trying to say Thai people have small feet?" Sold RM29.90.

This shoe is so hot, my blog is burning! lol! This is they highest heels I have ever own. But I am glad that it was sold at RM68 only^^

That's all for now. Stay tune for my next entry^^

NicaBell Review: Maybelline New York Clear Smooth AQUA Gel Foundation

I have been using the Maybelline New York - Clear Smooth AQUA Gel Foundation since my teen days and it is my first foundation I have ever use.

This is what it says on the back of the tube:-

  • Water-based formula gives skin a light and fresh sensation.
  • Control shine for an all day perfect and healthy-looking complexion
  • Even out skin tone and covers imperfection
  • Feels soothing and cares for your skin with chamomile, aloe and Vitamin E
100% Oil free * Dermatologist tested * Allergy tested
* Fragrance free * Hypoallergenic * Won't clog pores

INGREDIENTS:  AQUA/WATER, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, GLYCERIN, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, KAOLIN, POLYACRYLAMIDE, SILICA, PHENOXYTHANOL, C9-15 FLUOROALCOHOL PHOSPHATES, C13-14 ISOPARAFIN, ALUMINIUM HYDROXIDE, METHYLPARABEN, LAURETH-7, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE, SODIUM C8-16 ISOALKYSUCCINYL ACETATE, POLYMETHYL METHACRYLATE, SODIUM C8-16 ISOALKYLSUCCINYL WHEAT PROTEIN SULFONATE, DIMETHICONOL ETHYLPARABEN, BUTYLPARABEN, BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1, PROPYLPARABEN, ISOBUTYLPARABEN, CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA/ MATRICARIA EXTRACT, ALOE BARBADENSIS/ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, MAY CONTAIN [+/- CI 77891/TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77492, CI 77491/IRON OXIDE, MICA, CI 42090/BLUE 1], [F.I.L 8359/1]

Okay, I know that toooooo much of chemical in this tube of foundation. It has Paraben and Paraffin, but I am reviewing the result that I get here. The choice is still yours to use it or not.

I used it many times and still have a tube of this in my hand which I bought last year.

Nicabell LOVE this because:-
  • It last all day in the office. 5-6 days outdoor (depends on the humidity)
  • Didn't result any breakouts on my face.
  • Glides easily on my skin.
  • The fact that it doesn't have any smell at all.
  • Light to medium coverage. I double it/ dab it on the area that I need extra coverage as a concealer.
  • Build-able. Apply a (very) thin layer first, and then blend with damp sponge. Then repeat the steps not more than 3 times. Won't get cakey and it will make the coverage seems heavier but not too overwhelming.
  • The formula feels thick on the touch but actually light weight. I didn't feel anything while wearing this.
  • Cheap!!
The downsides that NicaBell found are:-
  • If you experienced using gel eyeliner before, you might understand how gel formula products dried fast. So you might want to do the application faster than when you are using regular liquid foundation.
  • I recommends you to wear a primer before hand because the foundation would set on fine lines. I am 23 and I have some very very very soft lines under my eyes and it became like wrinkles when I use the foundation without primer.
If I were asked how many stars I would put to this product, I would put 4 out of 5 stars. Mainly because it is cheap, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.
Small nozzle to help you to control the amount of the product that you need.

A closer look of the product. I have applied some on my skin before as well.

So that concludes my review. Feel free to comment, Like, +1, Share this review. I will be very appreciated it.

November 2011: NicaBell Avon & Watson Haul

Boo-Hoo!!! This is a late November Haul and this time I bought stuffs from Avon and Watson.

I was busy with my things and I was trying to move my blog from Wordpress to Blogger and all. Well, I can list out a thousand pages of reasons but it doesn't give a fact that I shouldn't apologize for my late blog entry. Therefore, I am sorry peeps!!!

I didn't buy much on November. I only bought 3 items from Avon and boy, they are AWESOME!!!

Avon Toiletteries Bag,
Avon Ideal Shade Tinted Makeup base,
Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Advanced Spot Control
First of, I will introduce you to this love red toiletries bag. It have 3 outer zippers, another zipper in the large compartment for a small pocket and 2 pocket which also in the large compartment.

A small zipper compartment to put some small stuff and a loop to hang the bag to a hanger.

2 sides compartment which can fit in a whole large tube of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub.

Front view wear you can see that there are 2 pocket inside the main compartment.

A big space for you to fit in your stuff!!

Next, is the Avon Ideal Shade tinted makeup base in Mint (Green).
This makeup base is not meant for the whole face. I only apply this on area that has redness like on the blemishes, nose area, and around my mouth. It has a sheer formula but I can still see greenish tint on it. It is absolutely not thick nor it is runny, satin finish but not shimmery. To be wear under foundation. I wore liquid & gel foundation, BB cream and loose powder and they all look good. It is not oily, it doesn't breaks me out . It has weird smell, though not overwhelm enough to irritate me nose. But do aware that if you have oily slickly skin like mine, do avoid using this with dual powder foundation. It looks like the powder foundation cannot blends in to the makeup base on my skin after 3 to 4 hours of application.

25g net wt. Simple tube.

I like the shape of the mouth of the tube.
I believe that it does help me to control the amount of the product that I need.

I am not sure if you can see this.
It is minty green tinted.

Last but not least, is the Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Advanced Spot Control.
I love this product. It is my daily routine to put on topical medication for my blemishes. I cover my whole face with a thin layer of this product. It contains 2% of Salicylic Acid and also helps to reduce blemish size, swelling and redness. I use this with the DHC Salicylic Face Milk so that my skin would not dry out. This helps me a lot to control my acne.

25 mL with improved packaging. I forgot how the old bottle looks actually.

Small mouth to control the amount of product that the user needs.

Clear formula. If you leave the prodct to long on a surface, it would evaporate. So spread only the amount that you need and put it on the area that you would like to ASAP!
I rarely have the chance to use the tinted makeup base for long wearing. But does look good with the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation. And the Clearskin Blemish Clearing would not mattify your face on makeups as wll. So do be aware.

For the Watson Haul, I only bought 3 items also, so here we go!

Watson Haul
Nexcare 3M Acne Patch
I have good things to say about this product. I really work but you just have to give it times to do its job. It adsorb secretion or should I say the puss from your acne. I have tried many times and it really works great on Nodules, pustules and cystic acne. It says that it also work on whiteheads and blackheads, but it did not. However, it does helps to prevent infection after squeezing your acne though.

Nexcare 3M Acne Patch 36pc
Rexona Women - Shower Clean
I have been using this brand for deodorant since the start of my pubescent and it helps me a lot for my body odor. I used to use the one that called 'White' because I like how it smells and change back and forth with the other Rexona which has purple cap. However, Rexona widen their range and launch the Shower Clean which I been hooked on till now. I usually buy the spray one but I just bought this one because they were on sale!

Rexona Women - Shower Clean (Twin Pack)

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation - 008 Golden Beige
This is an amazing product from Revlon!! I used to use foundation from Maybelline NY but I found my new muse in Revlon. I use to think that Maybelline is for the hip young adult while Revlon is more for the older/ matured adult. Boy, how wrong I am. It is definitely not about how young or how old you are. It is more about what is your style and which type of product suits you. I cannot used most Maybelline product solely because my skin cannot accept them. The only Maybelline that I was able to use is the Clear Smooth AQUA Gel Foundation. The rest is just unacceptable. May be it was my wrong technique on applying or whatever it is. Revlon PhotoReady Foundation is definitely a must have drugstore brand foundation. It is affordable, it won't break you out, great coverage and blend well on my skin!

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation - 008 Golden Beige

I am done for the November haul and stay tune for the December haul!!

See ya!

NicaBell: I Am Floating, I Am In Love~

Helloooooooo Bloggerrrr!

It is certainly refreshing to be back to Blogger! I don't hate Wordpress and it is one of  the best blogging platform that we have around. It is just me who had issues with it and it is too complecated for me to use it. I am an active blogger just recently so that must me the reason for my poor knowledge.
So enough of that...

I am dedicating this post to the SyiokSendiriSisters (SSS)!!! d(=^_^=)b
They are an awesome online shop!! I have been stalking their blog since I-don't-know-when but never buy anything (I am scared of buying anything online). I love looking at their spree, sales, etc because they have many items that they sell that I never own (but I really want them!). So I saw this old post where they sold Brush Guard and make up brushes so I start sending them email and ask if they will ever open any spree or sales anytime soon. They reply me with much courtesy and we talk some opinions about this and that brushes. Talking with them (email) is very easy and I just felt that this is a sincere and serious type of people who are opening a business shop online. I can feel that I can trust them so I decide I could buy anything from this people if I ought to buy anything!

So I was checking my emails the other day and I receive an email from the SSS that they had just opened their Brush Guard Spree!!! My heart went wild and I knew that I have to have them! It is definitely hard to get them here in KK and I have been drooling, wanting them on my hands. These Brush Guard an essential, a must-have item to protect your make up brushes. I have a few brushes currently and they are quite expensive.

I own 4 brushes from The Body Shop (foundation brush, face & body brush, eyeshadow blender brush and line softer), a MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush, 2 Eliantos' (contour brush, lip brush) and a unknown brand retractable fluffy dome shaped brush that I use to apply blush.

Those from Elianto are very cheap but they are still precious to me. I value the items that I bought with my money so I will take care of my things. That is why, when the SSS open the spree, I told myself that I have to get it no matter what!

I also saw that SSS opened some Eye Lip Face (ELF) spree and I saw brushes are on the spree as well. It has been my dream to expand my brush colection and when I saw the ELF brushes on SSS spree, my heart literally stop! They are cheap!!! 11 ELF Studio brushes cost RM95 + RM8 (Sabah postage fee from West M.) = RM103!! It is definitely not easy to find good but cheap brushes around KK. but RM95 is very cheap considering that there are 11 brushes in there. [p/s: they have close this spree around 2 weeks ago.]

SSS allows their customer to make double payment method which means a customer can bank-in/transfer 50% deposits and pays the other half of the payment later but before they send out the items, of course. This is very convenient for me because it will not hurt my wallet!!

And this morning, I just saw a new post from SSS that they are selling a ready stock for Urban Decay items and my eyes just open up for the Primer Potion (Vintage Bottle)!! They have 2 types of UDPP, original and Eden. I never saw the Eden one but I have seen the original one but never have the intention of wanting to have one. Well just because the original UDPP look quite shimmery. May be not shimmery but more like mild sheen. But as a curious mouse I am, I went on Google and found this amazing blog that gives a good review on the  Eden UDPP. Guess what? I'm in LOVE!! It is an amazing matte texture and I really want one!! I have an oily skin so shimmery eye shadows sometimes help the shines to make my oily skin look WORSE! Okay, may be I am exaggerating things. I just don't like super shimmery make ups especially those you can literally see those chunks of shimmer.

Phew! SSS is a great online shop. I believe that there would certainly people who would agree to me on this.

Oh la la~ I am a shopaholic.. No! I am a e-shopaholic!! LOL!

Be writing again soon!!

Nicabell: Update for my life about EVERYTHING! HAH! (02/2011)

Woot! Woot!!

I have finally moved my blog from wordpress to blogspot. I am sick and tired of deleting spams from my previous blog. It's not wordpress fault, no, I am NOT blaming wordpress for the spams.

I have used Blogger and have many good experience with Blogger for quite some times now. I think it is easy to use and I can easily connect to other Google's amazing product in a same email account. But it has some pros and cons to it though. The pro is that we can easily connect to other Google's products such as YouTube, Picasa, Google+, GTalk, etc.. However, the bad thing about it all is that, once you are hacked, all of your accounts in other Google's products might be affected.

But I don't think anyone would worry though. XD

In my opinion through me short short experience using Blogger and Wordpress, I find that it is much easier to use Blogger as a blog platform than Wordpress. The first time I was using Wordpress, all I can think about was what? where? how? Everything was confusing. Signing up, signing in and out is easy. But I have to take time to learn how to make a new post. I have to admit that I am not very bright when it comes to learning new things and adapting new environment. But Wordpress is like a whole new world to me. People say that it is user friendly. However, to me, it's more like experienced-user-friendly.

I am more comfortable using Blogger. Therefore, I decide to move my blog back to my root, Blogger!

Everything in this blogs will be about beauty, make-ups, and some personal details/information of mine. So, please do some comments here and I promise to reply you ASAP!

Cheers!

xoxo
