May 2012: NicaBell's Guardian Haul

Happy Harvest Festival peeps!

I was born, raised and practically lived my whole life here in Kota Kinabalu, the capital city for Sabah State, somewhere in the Northern portion of the Borneo Island. Sabah is one of the 13 states that we have in Malaysia. Sabah may be the second poorest state in Malaysia, but our proud mother earth blessed our state with richness of flora and fauna, the beautiful diving spots, mighty Mt. Kinabalu of the Crocker range, our many many oil & gas supplies and of course, the beautiful sumandak (lady/ladies). But of all those I have mention above, I am most proud of the cultures that we have here in Sabah. There are a LOT of races in Sabah, but we stayed and still staying united as one.

The month of May is the the Sabahfest month. We are celebrating the harvest festival the whole month and have the peak of the celebration on 30th and 31st of May. There will be a lot traditional games like the tug of war, arm wrestling, sugandoi (singing competition), and the most anticipated heavily criticized but loved much is the Unduk Ngadau (beauty contest). There will be a LOT of alcohol drinking, tribal dancing, crazy singing, and chicks viewing. It's a traditional Sabahan celebration. But please take note, though we have some killer alcoholic drinks, some of us does not handles alcohol very well. LOL!

Okay enough of the Sabahfest talk!

I went to the 1 Borneo mall on the Thursday with my colleague for lunch and gone for small shopping. I went to the Guardian store (they are on promo anyway) to get my personal beauty supplies. Just a small haul, so here we goes.

L'Oreal Paris Smooth-Intense Caring Conditioner 200ml (RM 10.88)

This is my favorite hair conditioner so far. I have use the one from Tresemme, Sunsilk, Rejoice, Pantene and so on. But none (at least for me), can surpass the result I get from this one from L'Oreal.

I have some natural kinks in my hair and this conditioner helps to calm down those frizz.

The texture of the product is light and runny on my palms. But does the jobs well done!

Himalaya Herbal Anti-Dandruff Shampoo 200 ml (RM 11.81)

I can't believe I purchase this  product. I am not a big fan of Himalaya brand mainly because I don't like the smell. I've known this brand since 2006, when I was working in a drugstore like store. I thought it was like those blah Indian brand. And I was quite surprise knowing this product is popular though.

I have used some of anti-dandruff and now I am trying this one. I've tried it once after the purchase and I must say, I'm not liking. The smell, which I assume is the Tea Tree Oil is horrendous. Don't get me wrong, I do understand the benefits of TTO, but I just cannot tolerant the strong smell on this shampoo. The product is also runny. But one thing I like about it is that it didn't lather much. Most of you might not like that but I actually do.

Most anti-dandruff shampoo will dry out your mane. So if the shampoo lather less, it will lessen the drying effect on your hair.

Hada Labo Tamagohada AHA+BHA Face Wash/Cleanser 50g
(RM 16.11)

Behold the best drugstore gentle scrub we have in the market.

I love my St Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub Blemish & Blackhead Control but I cannot use it everyday. I use it at least twice or once a month. The apricot scrub is too harsh.

This AHA+BHA chemical scrub is gentle enough to be used twice a day. It cleans deep enough you cleanse those dead flaky skin.

Simple Skincare CLEAR SKIN Oil balancing Moisturiser 75g (RM 17.68)

I've been using the travel sized, Simple Skincare KIND TO SKIN 3-steps regime. I love them but I always short of the moisturizer because I like (not love) using it.

So when I saw this moisturizer from its Clear Skin Oil Balancing range, I have to have it. My face is combination type. Dry on the forehead, temples and jaw but oily around the chin, nose and the apple of my cheeks.

So that's it my Guardian haul for this month.

I am waiting for my online purchase currently. I got some items from SSS spree and some dieting coffee. I think they'll be arriving next week or after the harvest festival. So please stay tune to my next haul next month!

xoxo

NicaBell Review: Man In Black 3

Hello peeps!

Have you watch the Man In Black 3? I do! I have an unexpected movie date with boyfie yesterday.

Yes! In 3D. The regular one is in fullhouse! eeks!

So what does Man In Black 3 has to do with beauty? -- nothing.

Well there are some actually. For me at least. Nicole Scherzinger has a short cameo at the beginning of the movie. Yes, her act is short and kinda lame but I love her makeup there. I LOVE THE RED LIPS she had on! I also loving the beautiful fashion of the 60's women the movie had portraying

Okay moving on with the review.

I love the MIB franchise as they are always got funny stuff in them. Hey! they got our funny man, Will Smith there. What do you expect him doing? Pact in some action and alien and space gun and suit, there you have it! A comedy sci-fi film!

The plot is, I have to say, interesting. No I won't reveal any spoiler but if you have seen the trailer, you might have know that there are time travelling thing going on.

Plot- There are things put there Agent J shouldn't need to know but Agent K promise to tell J secret of the universe and nothing more. But something bad has happened to Agent K and it seems like everybody in the Secret Agent Society, doesn't know him, but when there is a person who know him insisted that K is dead - 40 years ago. J, apparently the only person who personally knows K and insist that K is his partner, goes for a visit to the 60's. What is J mission for time travelling? What are the things that a Class 1 agent like J shouldn't need to know? And why are there some alien invasion when the Earth suppose to be a safe heaven?

The movie is rated P13 here in Malaysia. Probably because there are some intense alien kissing and alien killing. And of course the 'time jumping', which I think the main reason for the P13 rate.

P13 : Parental guidance is suggested for viewers under 13.

Someone should pay Josh Brolin, who acted as the young Agent K, a big paycheck. His serious face still manage to crack the theater. And he really live up to the Agent K persona.

I feel like the movie is quite short though. Probably because there had been many cut of scene by the Malaysian Board of Censorship. The advertisement plus The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film) trailers are about 15 - 20 minutes long. The movie started 6.45pm and ended 8pm++.

The Amazing Spider Man 2012 Trailer.

I would rate 4.5/5 for this movie. Just because Josh Brolin is funny, the advancement of the 60's motorbikes are better where the present, I guess, have none. And of course the first time seeing Agent K laughs, well the young one at least. And the old K have uncontrollable temper all of the sudden. And some pies. HaHa!

Overall, a great movie. A little unexpected within the plot but of course, the world is always going to be safe as long as our secret agents are here.

NicaBell Review: Leptin Green Coffee 1000 (The First Words)

Hiya peeps!

Do you interested on diet? I mean slimming down your weight?

So I am a 5 feet 3 inch lady with 75kg of weight. Yeah, the height and weight I am now does not do any good for myself. About a month and a half ago, I was 80kg. But then I got 1 week of leave from work and went to my mom hometown for a vacay.

I ate white rice with dishes that my mom cook with no cooking oil (or just a little only); like fish soup, braised  bitter gourd, boiled egg, etc.  For 7 days and 6 nights, I ate less junk food than when I was in the city. When I get back to KK, my boyfriend told me that I got a bit smaller. I laugh it off saying: "Awww... you're saying that because you just missed, dear."
While he insisted that I got smaller over the week.

I was only few weeks later, my colleague told me that her friend from the other department compliment me saying I slimmed down. I was quite shock and as soon as I reach home, I went to check on myself on the weight measure. 75kg? I was surprise!

Too bad I couldn't stay in my mom hometown for long. Or else, I'll be so skinny by now. LoL!

So I found this product: Leptin Green Coffee 1000, while surfing on my Facebook. I didn't believe the hype at first but I saw a picture of this local lady, who had tried the slimming coffee, and succeed to slim down her weight within 2 months! I am impressed! Thus, I decided that I would want to try it too!

I bought 2 box of it for a month supply and there are 18 sachet per box.

I am on my third day on the coffee and to say if I have lost any kilos within the 2 days I am on it. No! I think it's too early to lost weight anyway.

I was told to drink it a sachet, once a day in the morning. There should be a burning sensation, feverish like feeling on my whole body. If not, I should increase the dose to 2 sachets. I do felt the feverish sensation so I don't need to up my dose then.

Within these days, I do felt that my appetite are suppressed. I feel less hungry. Anything that suppose to be delicious on my tongue will become blah! I also felt like I could only eat a little and no more snack.

I am hopeful with this product. Finger-cross that I'll get to slim down and wear my old shirt.

p.s: I was 55kg on my early 19. But am 23 and 75kg today. So sad huh!

xoxo

April 2012: NicaBell's Simple Skincare & SSS Haul

'sup peeps!

I didn't buy much for this month and I am joining the Syiok Sendiri Sisters. If any of you who are not familiar with the blogshop, you should be ashamed! jk! Flie is the sweetest blogshop owner I have ever know. The blogshop had opened sprees with a good price! Most (I did my own observation. Sorry if I am wrong) blogshop sells or open their sprees with higher price than Syiok Sendiri Sisters'. If you don't believe my words, you peeps should go to Flie's blogshop and compare to others that you might know.

'nuff with the off topic!

I add another item into my Simple Skincare collection. Woo-Hoo!

I bought the Simple Skincare Regeneration Age Resisting Eye Cream from their Regeneration range.

The skin around my eye area are not dry but need moisturizer. I usually use my Ginvera Jade Dark Eye Circles Roll Away which is kind of serum which is not moisturizing enough. (I will make a review on it for better explanation of the product)

I did have a thought to buy the La Mer eye cream BUT I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH 'STRENGTH' TO BUY IT. It was about RM 500++ per jar?

It's cheap and I have been loving some Simple Skincare product. I have some fine lines formed under the corner of my eyes and I felt ashamed. I am only 24 and I have lines? I believe that these fine lines that I have resulted from the constant puffy eyes that I have which also caused by lack of beauty sleep. Therefore ladies! GET A LOT OF BEAUTY SLEEP TO STAY YOUR BEAUTY!!!

The product is not oily. The texture is almost like the Simple Skincare "Kind To Skin" Hydrating Light Moisturizer but much lighter.

Some short summary bout the product

And the only thing I was interested at the time was the NYX HD Photogenic Primer and nothing ELSE!!

I search on youtube and other web like crazy just to know how good this primer before buying it. Reviews after reviews, I decided that I am confident enough to buy it and here it is in my hands! har! har! har!
